Happy Father's Day, all you guys out there (that are fathers, anyway)

How about sharing a hat story about your father?

I remember that my father had two hats in the front closet. When he saw that I was curious about them, he got them out and informed me of the difference between them. One was a formal fedora, but the second was a "crushable" one. He wadded up in his hands, then, showed me the "proper way" to style the hat and many variations. He also taught me to tie a tie. He has been gone since 1982, but the lessons he taught are still with me.

My Dad always wore a Dobbs hat, either a gray or brown (depending on his suit). My Dad was a school Principal, and wore a suit and hat every day. I can remember as a child always wanting to look like my Dad (well, I'm 54 now and still do [huh] ). Dad got me a "boy's hat" that was made just like a "man's hat" that I could wear when I dressed up for church, etc. Somewhere I recall having a picture of us on a trip to Washington, DC where I'm wearing a suit and that hat. I was probably eight or 10 years old at the time.
