Ahh, yes, the story of Victor Jara is very, very sad.

It's hard to say because you never really get a good shot of the hat. The crease has a soft pinch in the front with some shallow dents, but you never really see the top of the hat, so I don't know what the rest looks like. It could even be a telescope crown with a slight pinch. It's not entirely unlike the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly hat. E.G.:

That's from Knudsen hats, you could get it in black, with a shorter brim, for $229 in 10x beaver.

Since you're in Australia, you might want to look for an Akubra Squatter in black. Everything Australian has it, but its a 3 month backorder.

But it might also have a c-crown. It does have a nice tall and straight block profile. And looks like somewhere in the neighborhood of a 2.5" brim. An Akubra Federation IV without the dimensional cut would also work, that is available exclusively at hatsdirect.com/The Hattery in Katoomba. A Fed IV would need a different brim flange to get it exact to that hat.

Looks like a pretty standard modern fedora. C crown. 2-1/2-ish inch brim. Check out Stetson's offerings.

I don't think modern I've never seen a ribbon like that on a modern standard stetson or the like. Maybe a custom fedora? Kind of reminds me of my squatter but the ribbon is to big and it is hand pinched and creased fairly deep. The crown sides are too straight for the squatter and the flange appears to be more of a swoop then the squatter as well. But it does resemble it well.

As already mentioned looks like a standard felt jobby, probably picked up in an Italian sporting/hunting shop. An unshaped Borsalino would probably be the closest you'll get.
