Hat mysteries solved

This might be a good thread to place some of our most ask hat questions that have been solved.
[be aware that new answers may come to light with more research]

first up I will add the Howard Hughes hat that was solved by jbbenson in the Howard Hughes thread.
His hat appears to be a Whippet.

2nd is an article from Troy NY 1967. It states that LBJs hats were Stetson 100s.
This may need a little more research but it would seem to be correct.

A local hatter swears his father was personal friends with LBJ & that he wore Resistols since he & they were from Texas....

Not much was known. I ran across mention of it here in the article from West Virginia in 1965.

There is some intresting things in the article.
