Thanks,RJR.The sweatband is on it's way.I have to use a ribbon 1"or bigger to hide where the felt didn't fade.I always lean toward the wide ribbons,just not sure yet.

Finally found the time to work on this old Mallory.Got the 2"sweatband from Bond.Put on a 1 1/8" vintage brown ribbon.My 1st sweatband I sewed on.Did it with a sewing awl.Turned out ok,I think.

You'll find that you're recommended for R&R work here pretty frequently,Scott.

Recent customer request to switch up the crown ribbon. The narrow navy blue pleated original ribbon was unique in that the pleats were stitched all the way around the ribbon. For the replacement ribbon I had this one last piece left in silver blue tone and fortunately matches the binding perfectly. A Gorgeous fur felt and a spotless hat. Has a nice full crown and shapes beautifully.
