Plans are to finally let the beard get out to "Civil War General" length..... still trying to decide whether to keep the head short or let it grow back out... In all honesty, Im a little concerned how thin hair and hot sun react....better put a hat back on lol

I took a class for career purposes back in the mid-1990s, and one day a group of the younger male class members had gathered and were discussing the fact that they were slowly losing their hair as they grew older. The very attractive young brunette woman with a thick mass of dark curly hair I was casually chatting with overheard them at one point, stopped what she was saying to listen for a moment, then looked at my hair, which was quite thick, brown, and curly as well, and quietly said, "Well, that's obviously something we'll never have to worry about." The moment those words left her mouth I could feel individual hairs abandoning their posts atop my head and leaping to their deaths on the tile floor of the hallway we were seated in. That was about 30 years ago and, now, although I still have most of the hair on the top of my head, that traditional "bald spot" where the top of the head meets the back of the head is developing nicely on it's own and, apparently, not planning on going anywhere. Growing, yes; going, no. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Ah well. At least I have my caps and hats to wear for sun protection during summers and to keep my head warm during cooler winter months.

Four out of five hat wearers are follically-challeged.

The only contribution I can offer to that discussion is that I started losing my hair before I started wearing hats and caps, so I'll be standing over here on the "baldness is hereditary" side. Wearing hats and caps may have contributed to it, though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That said, I have no way to back up that belief because I was adopted shortly after birth and have no way to track down my biological family in order to gather information.

A photo from 2018 that random popped up today on my photos app. Appears I was somewhat excited to have found Mr Lincoln at our local thrift store back some time before the hat addiction had fully kicked into high gear. Man I wish I had brought him home… he would have made the perfect night stand hat rack!!!
