This week I had a few of the usual suspects (Omni IPA, Surley Pilsner, Surley Supreme, Founders Agave and Guinness Foreign Stout.

Last evening I had an opportunity to enjoy a dram of Arbeg Wee Beastie and Glen Allachie 10 Cask Strength. Truly excellent. Both whiskeys were different and tasty.

Picked it up from the factory.
Front Porch Fridays sound like a good time!

Yesterday evening was a good time starting with a few pints of Mothers Brewing Three Blind Mice German Altbier, under a Kevin O’Farrell.

And to wrap up here, a couple Belgian Quads by Ommegang Brewing Co, Three Philosophers. A quadruple ale & Belgian Kriek, the good malty taste is offset with the slight sour cherry taste, more than a couple at a time might be a bit much. 7.2% ABV.

Finally home on the veranda with a couple Maduro Brown Ales from Cigar City Brewing.

Jack Daniel's bottled in bond, an ice cold chaser, and the Churchill I've been wearing all weekend. Picked this one up at the factory, too...unfortunately I also picked up a screw in the front tire. Drove home on the back roads with the temporary spare... do not exceed 50 mph it says. Lynchburg is a long way from Birmingham when you take the interstate out of the equation. A fine trip, but glad to be sleeping in my own bed tonight.

In celebration of the new football season the Tap Room is holding a month long contest earning points towards a prized shirt. Only takes earning 12 points with new beers. I earned 4 points tonight.

Gimme the peat, boys
And free my soul
I wanna get drunk on a mossy knoll
And drift awayyy…

A GGCD & a pour of Lagavulin 16. Glen Gray wasn’t offered for very long in a Campdraft. This one was cannibalized before it found its way to me & is still missing a ribbon.

No hat photo to show, as I’m sitting in my living room in my PJs toasting the late Queen Elizabeth with a Bunnahabhain.
I’m no royalist and I regret that New Zealand didn’t take their opportunity to remove the Union Jack from our flag a few years back, but what a life she led! And led it with dignity.
What’s more, she was one of us. She had an impressive collection of hats!
