Some of you may recall a while back I posted that I was trying to find hats for my daughter-in-law's grandfather as he is undergoing a cancer treatment that makes his skin very sensitive to sunlight. The problem is that he has a very small head. Thanks in part to Bolthead pointing me to a couple of auctions I found a few hats to try--a 6 1/2, a 6 5/8, and a 6 3/4. My own measurements of his head put his size in the under 6 1/2 range, but the 6 1/2 fit him fairly well. Unfortunately I can't find the notes I made of the hats before I gave them to him. I'll put down what I can recall. I took a quick snapshot of him in each hat, so the photo's aren't great.
A straw-don't recall the brand but I don't think it was a common one.
A Stetson. This hat had the business card of the original owner in the sweatband! He represented a restaurant supply business in Austin, TX.
A Stetson Open Road. This is a newer vintage one (if that's not an oxymoron.)
I've got three more 6 5/8s felt hats for him that came in after the last visit.
Anyway, just thought I'd share the photos.
Cheers,
Tom
