Could not find another fitting thread for this one, so why not give this great thread a bump? Royal Stetson Railbird in what I guess is an oatmeal colour. This one came to me as part of another transatlantic hat-swap. Richard (Morgan) found this one for me and it really does tick all the boxes for hats I'd like to add to my collection. Heather, lightweight (only 83 grams) and light coloured. So many thanks to Richard for this wonderful hat. Heather felt with some wool content in it by the feel of the felt. The size is 6 7/8 which I took a chance on because normally I'm a 7. But Stetson hats do seem to run large for me so it was worth taking a little risk. It's a near perfect fit. Triple stitched brim at 5,6 cm and crown 10,5 cm at the pinch. Felt ribbon. Some moth nibbles here and there, but nothing serious and because of the heather felt they're hardly noticeable. The pictures show it with a centre dent, but that has since changed: the hat seemed to want more of a diamond shape and I obliged. All in all a great addition to my collection. Judging by the size tag it would be late fifties?

Very nice! Reminds me of a lightweight heather Dobbs *** Prince that I've had for some time that would be a fit for this thread.

Alan, thanks. It's still great to see that Dobbs again. Seems to be quite similar to the Stetson, apart from the brim treatment of course.

I've been looking back in this thread and have come to the conclusion it's not nearly complete. There must be many more heathers out there that haven't been posted in this thread. I'll start off with my own heathers. This one has been posted in another thread, but belongs here too. T&W Lees in grey heather (called DK Flannel) size 56 (6 7/8) with an overwelt edge (very finely done) and longhair finish.

Hard to tell from the photos, but I am guessing sueded finish rather than heather.
