Help identify this western (?) hat

Another "identify this hat"-thread, this time it's the hat worn by Charles Ingalls in the good old Little House on the Prairie show. I like this style and wouldn't mind it for various outdoor activities. Can anyone identify it? Is it some kind of western hat, or what is it? I've been curious about this hat for years, and now when I found these boards maybe someone can enlighten me.

That's your basic Western "slouch" hat with a telescope crease. An Akubra would do nicely:
