Help: Virtual or In-Person Custom at Johnson Leathers

I've decided to go custom for my next jacket to get the features I want, and it seems Johnson Leathers is the best choice for what I'm looking for. I'm hoping to gather insights from the forum about people's experience getting custom jackets made virtually with JL. I know in-person is undoubtedly preferred, but I live on the east coast and dont anticipate any travel to SF in the near future. Please share if you have had brilliant successes (or unfortunate failures) doing custom with JL virtually.
