All this recent talk about the thickness of HH has got me thinking. Now we know that Aero FQHH is actually 3oz, not 3.5oz, how would a HH jacket by Aero compare to a 1940's-1950's HH jacket?
I'd be interested in the comparison between a couple of half belts - one from then, one from now. Having heard people claim over the years that period jackets are usually lighter than the repos, I'm wondering could 2.5oz HH be a more frequently found thickness for a vintage half belt? Any thoughts? Is anyone in a position to weigh a vintage jacket?
I have to say the 3oz Aero HH is extremely nice and I can imagine it lasting a lifetime or two.
So I'll start with a point of comparison - my size 42 1930's FQHH half-belt - by Aero circa 2002 is 5.3 pounds in weight.
