Landmark Theatres- River Oaks. This theatre was built in 1939. It opened in NOV. of 1939 with the showing "Bachelor Mother". It is the home of Houston's annual Academy Awards viewing party.
Today the showings are "Atonement" and "Donnie Darko". I'm seeing the 2 PM Showing :)
Are there any historic theatres/restaurants in your area?

In my neighborhood, I can have a bite at Joe's (1913) and catch a show at the Colony (1934).

You'd better hurry, lauwalton. Bulldozing historic buildings is considered sport in this town. Developers here will pave anything that hasn't moved in 10 minutes.

If you are from the Houston area you will probably know what this sticker means. Anyone that would like one just PM me and I will send one to you for free. I still have some left but will be reprinting soon.
