How do folks react to your hat wearing?

I had a rather unique experience with my Stetson straw porkpie a couple of weeks ago.

I was sitting in a restaurant booth waiting on my meal when I felt something pulling back on my hat. I turned around to the biggest smile on a little tyke. His mother apologized saying that his favorite uncle wears a hat like that and that he loves hats because of it.

Overall the cutest experience I've had in a hat.

Yesterday on my new recovery walking route at the local big mall I had an experience that should be shared with every guy…

I’ve started to “walk the mall,” toward my rehabbing goals as so many of us old fellas do.

My distance and tolerance has already improved after only about 2 weeks of walking every other day or so! But after today, I may be jogging around in there!

The amazing incident occurred as I passed by the Dead Sea Beauty Products store. One of the 2 beautiful young ladies in the front came out to me to tell me that “I’ve been noticing, and all your hat(s) are SO amazing. AMAZING!!”
WTH!?!?!? Exciting!!

SUPER day at the mall!

Nothing better than getting a compliment from a pretty girl. Go get 'em, Charlie!

My profile pic is an Akubra Casual. Akubra stopped making them. I liked that hat and got good remarks. It wore out, now I wear an Akubra Stylemaster. I get good comments now and then. The Stylemaster pic is from a trailcam. That hat color is green/gray.

My wife thinks the pork pie looks silly, but I wear it anyway :)

Of course, she used to think I looked silly in bowlers, too, but with all the compliments I get from other women, she's decided I look pretty dapper after all!

Christys going out of business (since saved by a new buyer) spurred me on a couple of months ago to buy a new grey pp, very much like this one. They're a fun hat... I like them particularly with a shorter jacket like aa Harrington or a leather. On the flipside, I've also worn one with a full Ted look, as a sort of compensator for my own lacking the hair for a DA quiff.

The bowler is the last frontier for me. I picked up a brown one before Covid that I'm starting to experiment with and rather like. I'm still a bit leery of the black one, but I did pick up a vintage example and am slowly considering giving it an outing. It's not a hat I'd wear back in the old country, certainly, but I'm coming round to the idea of sporting one in London occasionally.

The Stylemaster is a nice hat. A touch more early 50s in design to my eye as compared to my Federations,, which appeals. I like the bound brim too.
