I plead the 5th... :D

"Exactly how many hats did you buy over time?"

"I have no clear memory of that, Mr. Senator!"

"Is it true that you own more than thirty vintage fur felt fedoras?"

"I have no clear memory of that, Mr. Senator!"

"Is it true that you also own numerous hats of the straw type, namely Monetecristis and Cuencas?"

"I have no clear memory of that, Mr. Senator!"

"Is it true that you used illegal ebay snipers, set to outrageously high maximum amounts, to unfairly outbid any honest, potential competitors?"

"I have no clear memory of that, Mr. Senator!"

Mario, that "senate hearing" is priceless! I say we get a petition going for an economic bailout of vintage hat "distributors" (coughcollectorscough) :) :)

Unfortunately gentlemen, I seem to lack the means for acquiring or wearing a large collection of fine hats. Though I of course can appreciate finely tailored wool, silk, or linen garments, I lack the necessary funds to go about purchasing any of these fine items... and it's nearly impossible to find a 40L suit jacket in a thrift store! :(

Thus, my collection of hats stands currently at 2 Akubra's (a Whippet and a Fed IV Deluxe) and 2 tweed caps (a gray herringbone driver and an olive newsboy). I currently have a light gray "Marlborough" on order from Hornets Hats however, so let's hope my collection can grow!

Any advice from the veterans as to how to go about attaining good vintage hats?

Thanks

RP

I've got about twenty real hats, the baseball hat thing fluctuates between a couple I wear and a ton I get and give away. I'm always searching for one more hat, though.
