I am consider making an offer on 1930s Suede sport jacket seeking advice

    It looks so great, but I’d be concerned about it if it comes from the “midlands.” The moisture and wrinkling might be an issue with a suede jacket that old.

    ^Agreed. While mintvintage or whatever user name this is being sold under often has great stuff, the condition once in hand can leave something to be desired. That said, I have purchased multiple times from that seller and always thought the deal was fair and square.

    what I can’t figure out is why most the jackets have such deep storage impressions. It’s as if they come out of a massive storage container and they packed in really, really tight.

    That's exactly what happens. Sellers like Mintvintage purchase used clothing in bales that are totally packed, just crammed in there with no regard for the item until it is eventually taken out of the bale. Imagine this, but just filled with leather jackets:

    I'm not sure what their source is for these bales, but that's why their stuff has all those creases. It's all from bale purchases.

    The musty smell is what really gets me. Here in CA we aren’t allowed to order Ozone machines.
    My green one still has a little lingering scent of England- drives me nuts!
