Had a £10 Vinted gamble on this to dabble in a bit or restoration practice. According to the listing it's a 50s jacket bough second hand in 1967. Needs some seems resewing and them main zip resown at the top but should be doable.

I think its possibly horsehide. It's got Conmar sleeve zips and a little size 5 Clix main zip, unsure if the main zip is original. I don't think the belt is original and i have a suspicion the bottom part of the jacket is an addition as the snap buttons don't quite line up. Any ideas?

Nice jacket. In my quick view, I was able to notice many things that have been updated on that jacket. The bottom hem, shoulder seams, main zipper, lining and belt. The jacket could be Canadian made? Those zips were available in Canada and the US but it was a stretch to think an American will pass a nice Talon for a Clix. However, this is just a speculation to what makes sense to me. In true honesty, the jacket does look late 50's or early 60's. I could be wrong, I am often am.

Thanks for the help I've seen Clix zippers on the old UK Mascot and Lewis Leathers jackets but I'm sure this jacket is neither. There was a Clix factory in the UK in 1963 so i think maybe it's a replacement zip.
