Happy Halloween!
and Happy Thanksgiving!
and Merry Christmas!
and Happy New Year!
I've been here...really I have.
First, there was the new grandbaby
and his mama and daddy moving into their new house.
Then I took a stumble and got a nasty gash atop my left foot that required a trip to the ER...on my anniversary!
Just got into close-toed shoes last month.
Then there was Bear's birthday, a bit of halloween fun
yellow jackets in my fall vegetable garden plot (hence, no fall garden)
shipped the in-laws off to Arizona for the winter.
Then there was Thanksgiving which was also our oldest son's birthday.
But it almost wasn't.
A man decided he didn't want to stop at a stop sign...
blew the intersection (our son was on-duty as a motorcycle officer) and our son T-boned him.
Amazingly he "only" broke both arms. No head injury no internal injuries.
I won't go into the details but God had angels at his side instantly.
He was home three days later, a six hour surgery to rebuild his arms
with lots of plates and screws just in time for Thanksgiving
and his 28th birthday.
I still cry if I think about how it all worked out,
both the good and the bad,
but the LE community is awesome and continue to
watch over him while he recoups.
He will be back to work in not too long.
Unless I can talk him into being a goat farmer
So I haven't been doing much shopping or anything else really..
but I do get to watch the grandbaby during the week
since mama went back to work.
I so love to look at him and he makes me laugh all the time!
So I should be hanging around more often...I got a wireless router for Christmas from The Mister and a new antenna booster, so now I am no longer 'tethered' to the chair and the wall socket!
THE coolest gift I got...well, the oldest did buy me Ugg boots...and YES, I LOVE THEM! one day they will be vintage...one day....
so i should be able to keep in touch a bit more in the new year.
I hope.
I wouldn't mind being bored...just for a day...really...
