Hey gang. As you may or may not know, I used to be a dealer and love thrift stores. I have been inspired to get back into the dressing up and collecting mode thanks to this great forum. Thanks for all that.
And as you may have observed, I have started picking up things that I think would be appreciated by other members and selling them for cost or not much more than that to support the habit.
It is a great fun way to get to know members better, pass on the wealth, and it is really fun to have people I can hand pick for based on their specific size and taste, and also allows me to grab things I would otherwise let languish on the rack or end up in the landfill, and ghet them to omeone who would appreciate them.
With that in mind, I have seen some bomber jackets (I know, not their real name) lately in the thrifts made by schott and excel. I know the cheap stuff is worthless. But I know that schott is a quality jacket as well as ecel kind of.
But the are expensive enough that I hesitate to pick them up as they are not so desirable to ******** collectors, and not so desirable to the younger generation as jackets, althoug htere is a bit of a trend amongst the emo kids based on the fact that they were worn by the 1970s proto punk new york rockers.
Anyway, these jackets tend to go for about thirty bucks. The one I saw yesterday was an older schott, '30 with a rmovable fur collar and brown color.
So, is there any demand on the forum and/or, what do you know about general desriability of older schott or excel bomber jackets.
I am always inclined to pick them up, but don't want something no one wants sitting in the closet.
