Inverse pleats

I'm a fan of inverse pleats. They look fantastic when domne correctly. they slim you down and make you look more sporty.

I'm not a fan when they are done on low waisted trousers with a narrow cut and done too far apart to look like they belong on the trousers.

This is a bad example that looks like it's hanging off the guys hips.

I'll post a good example soon

I got my single-breasted narrow peak lapel sport coat back from Hemrajani. Awesome in every way, it fits me so well it looks like I was born in it. I'd like to get some slacks to make it a suit. I like the idea of inverse pleats, but on the mytailor.com web site they have a picture of this, whcih they call "single deep pleat turned out." I really dig this, sort of like a "channel" instead of a fold. I might try it.

thing is, the slim leg silhouette is still 'the in look' so adding pleats seems rather redundant. nowhere in the article does it mention pleats in conjunction with a wider straight leg which makes more sense, although the 'natural waist' is mentioned.

A friend and I discussed this article the other day. It was good to see the idea of a natural waist brought up. I hope designers catch on. Otherwise a low rise, narrow leg, pleated trouser seem pointless.
