Is this hat right for my face?

I posted some pictures - one with and without the hat in something I would typically wear in winter. Something doesn't seem right to me. It could be the idea of wearing a fedora or perhaps just the fedora itself. Tell me what you think:

What you've got going is a narrow brim on the hat and wide lapels on the overcoat. Try a wide brim with that coat, and narrower lapels with that hat, and you will probably like the look. :)

I second J.T. on this. Try to tie the whole look together and you'll be happy with the result.

Sounds good to me. Also, on the issue of tones - what colour is the hat? Can't really tell in the photos, but I'd be looking to try a brown hat with that coat, rather than a black one. Or a hat band in a shade that goes better with the coat.
