If this is the place I am thinking, I was at the Houston St. location a while back. The hats are nothing worth crowing over. You can get the same quality at Target but at 1/10th the price.

Sorry to shock! lol

I did a Google search of the address and by the street view I can confirm this is the place my wife and I were in.

We Loungers are understandably spoiled with our vintage and custom hats. :)

Well right. But if they make money from it, why not one would say. I bet Stetson would make a fortune if they created a range for the Japanese market, and opened an authenticly themed shop in Japan. Levis and vintage jeans have the biggest market in Japan...imagine how authentic hats would take off...Anyway, the proof will be how long they last. One thing is for sure, they are after the fashion segment, and not us old fogey loungers! lol

So the Japanese and American media works in similar ways. How shocking! ;) lol

The Houston St. store has been there at least a year. I've noticed no discernable upswing in hat wearing based on the presence of this place. Their shop looks like every other trendy Soho shop. It's business as usual..

Or the stories about how Uniqlo is big in New York, and Muji is the talk of London?

I think both Uniqlo and Muji do just fine in NYC, though I wouldn't say either's taken the city by storm.
