Johnnyphi Hats You Won't See in the Auctions

For the sake of history, I decided to start a thread for hats that I didn't include in the auction. These hats are not for sale.

Most of these were in bad condition or they were smaller than 6 7/8, so I couldn't justify paying the pro photographer to take photos of hats that might not sell. Others may end up on the Lounge or eBay, after we finish the auctions.

As you can probably imagine, I took quite a few photos of various hats before I decided to hire a pro photograher, and I think it's important to post some of my photos for you all to see. The colors may not be accurate, but you'll get a good sampling of interesting styles and color combinations.

Here's the first example.

A Stetson Stratoliner (Size 6 3/4) with a very interesting turquoise ribbon that seems much larger than the typical Stratoliner ribbon.

Royalist: Styled in the English Manner

This is a Royalist brand hat. I found several of these excellent hats, but most were pretty mothy. So far, our experts on the Lounge haven't been able to pin down any background information on the Royalist brand, but I have a suspicion that Royalist and another brand called Chesterfield were "house" brands for Adam because they have similar logos, and I found an Adam price tag in one of the hats.

Anyway, here is the Royalist:

Now we're talkin'! What a very cool and unique lid. Fantastic! :eusa_clap

Incidentally, that liner sticker is reminiscent of the Patty Stetson Strat posted in the Stratoliner Society thread. (Psst...RBH...are you counting engines here? ;))

Thanks for posting these, johnnyphi!

Cheers,
JtL

Singin' the Blues

Both the Blues, Varsity Club and Ambassador, are terrific colors in the pictures. Are they that vibrant in person? You just don't see enough blue hats these days.

A wide blue ribbon on one of my Winter Whites is most likely in the cards. Hmmm....

Lots of Blues... Here's the Princely!

The Varsity Club color is accurate, but the Ambassador is a bit dull.

If you like blue, check out "The Princely" by Crosby Square. Don't mind the giant "nibble" at the top of the crown.

NIIIICE BLUE!

I believe the "Princely" might clean up nicely and that "mouthful" could be hidden by the right crease plus one of the "filler" methods discussed in another thread recently.

Now we just need "More Bigger Blues".
