Most of the contract jackets I saw were actually in a more naked, more TFL friendly cowhide. But the smooth shiny top coat one is the same price so that's what I'd go for. My experience is that those with wear will top pretty much anything.

Interesting. You are saying that the coated cowhide jackets wear better than the naked cowhide jackets? Does anyone have pics of both? I was planning to get my next jacket in Phantom but now I worry that it is too shiny for me...

Jl buys batches of all sorts of leather and sometimes on request some of my jackets they literally asked me what I’m looking for and then order it

It might be a hide that only existed in a small batch, like the Horween shrunken horse that Canuck and I used a couple of years ago.

Thank you! Yes I had them do that type of stitching at the pockets and box stitching at the hem. I will try to get some more pictures soon.

Is that the Del-66? I was strongly considering ordering a Del-66 in Phantom, but looks like you beat me to it! It's ok, I can go with steerhide and save some skrilla
