Just got a used Aero jacket- what kind of steerhide?

The hide is really dark brown and has a waxy hand. It's a muted colour (very almost black) and very heavy indeed!

I'm wondering what the hide is- if I order another Aero down the line, I'd really consider getting one done in this.
