Here's the info I got off of it:
Band reads 'The Fifth Avenue', has initials J&R on other side embossed in gold.
Tag inside hat band reads $10.00, Lot Z922L, size 7
Brim measures approx 2 3/8"-2.5"

Any help is appreciated!

From what I can see, it looks like a later-production hat, say from 1960-1965. I almost want to say it could be later than that, and maybe it's even a post-1972 Koracorp-made hat. What makes me think that it's a Koracorp hat are things such as it's called "The Fifth Avenue," says "Premier" on the tip, and yet it has an overwelt instead of a Custom Edge, and is only ten dollars. Sort of a lower-priced hat masquerading as a higher-priced hat, if you will.

But...I don't know how late you could still get a Knox for $10.00, so I may be ****ing it far too late.

Still, it's a very nice-looking Knox. Too bad it doesn't fit your guy.

The Fifth Avenue was a model that had many incarnations. I have a 30s bowler that is a Fifth Avenue. From the plastic topper, liner, brim width and price, I would say it was sold in the 1950s sometime. Knox was never the low price leader so a Premier was not exactly the cheapest thing you could find. In the 1950s a Champ or an Adam would have been selling for between 5-7.50 so it makes sense that a Knox of the same time would be about $10---but then I could be wrong. :D ;)
