I don't think you will be disappointed: it's kind of like choosing from two delicious meals - how could you not be satisfied?

I definitely agree. Of course, now I don't know what to do with all that the time that I have now, not spent looking at leather jackets online.

I'll definitely post some photos when it arrives.

I ultimately ordered the standard design in russet brown. I briefly considered some modifications, but given my limited knowledge on the finer details, I went with the original. I'll definitely post some pics when it comes.

Cheech,

I'm very interested to find out how your coat is working out for you - I am still very interested in the LW Peacoat, and you're the first person who may be able to give me some photos and opinions!

Thanks!

Bradley

I notice that a prior poster mentioned the "Dr. Who" jacket. I assume they are referring to the jacket produced by "Bad Wolf".
I purchased one of their "Dr. Who" jackets about a year ago, and strongly recommend going with another manufacturer.
To make a long story short....I was unimpressed with the quality of leather. Reminded me of a cheap leather "mall jacket". The fit was so bad I had to send it back to be altered....was charged for the alteratio...in addition to shipping back and forth half way around the world. In the end I just told them to keep the jacket. Didn't even ask for a refund.
Though the jackets are touted as being "Made in London", I have my doubts. I was actually in London at the time the jacket was finished and wanted to pick it up while there to save the expensive shipping fees. When I emailed "Bad Wolf" I didn't hear back for several weeks until I was back home in the states.
That, combined with the product quality and sketchy communication left me with the impression that these are manufactured somewhere else...perhaps Asia. In retrospect, I wonder if the charge for the alteration may have actually been to cover their shipping fees back to wherever the jacket was actually manufactured.
Either way....for what I paid for the jacket...not even including shipping...I could have purchased a similar design coat custom fit from Aero.
Much higher quality leather. Great customer service. No charge for alterations if needed. No doubts as to where they are manufactured.

Hi Bradley,

Sorry to shirk my duties. I'll get some pictures posted tomorrow evening. In the meantime, the coat is definitely awesome. Stitching, measurements, etc. The color (russet brown) definitely is different from what I envisioned based on the pictures on LW's website--it's more of a dark chestnut, with virtually none of the red tone evident in the online pictures. It's still stiff as a board, but the arms are starting to slightly grain up with what little wear I can get in (it's still in the high 80s/low 30s here). Again, I'll post some pictures tomorrow.

Jeff, between Bad Wolf and Vanson, you seem to have really bad experiences with manufacturers! I hope your next jacket goes more smoothly.

Hi Cheech,
I look forward to the photos, too.

By the way, what is the standard lining?

Tell me about it.
Without intention, I have become a great well of experience for those with questions about dealing with different manufacturers.
So far, I've dealt with Aero, Eastman, Goodwear, Langlitz, Bad Wolf.
Lost Wolrds and Schott will likely be added at some point in time. :D

Despite the problems I've had with Vanson....I at least have faith in the quality of product and know I am dealing with a company (rather than an individual) with a long track record.
Follow up on the Vanson jacket....it's been a year now since I placed the order.
My plan is to contact them in 2 weeks and cancel the order if it isn't actually in shipment to me.

Wow! I thought you had finally received it a few weeks ago, but that must have been someone else waiting on their Vanson. A year is a long time...

How're you making out on those photos? Not to hound you, but you're the first person I've seen in recent times that has purchased one of the jackets, and given how interested I am in owning one of my own, I'm going to be following all of your posts very closely. :)

Hi Fifty150,

I am sure that you are just trying to help out, but one of those pictures you posted is inappropriate. And I don't know whether this company does good work, but there should be a warning that its website is pornographic.

Leather is their specialty.

I guess we all enjoy leather in different ways. But that also means that their clientele is very particular about their leather, and that they are experienced artisans when it comes to crafting leather. Leather shorts, or a leather pea coat.....it takes the same amount of skill and knowledge for both.
