Hey everyone, Im new to the forums and I was hoping someone on here could help me find something. Im looking for a hat like the one that was in the original Nightmare on Elm Street which I believe to be a Mid 80's Borsalino fedora, similar to this one below but a darker brown and with the thin "ribbon" around the brim(not sure what thats called):

Here is a picture of the OG Freddy hat, maybe you guys can give me some input, is it even a Borsalino hat?

You're not going to get one like that for $50 new unless you go with wool.

As for the brand, could be anything. 2" brim, perhaps a 5" crown... Quite certainly a decent fur felt (which come in real numbered sizes). Wool versions are made that would be within your price range, but they won't be the same quality and will not look quite like the movie one.

BTW, here's ebay to get you started. Between large and XL, I'm guessing you're 7 3/8 or 7 1/2 ish. http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=fedora+7+3/8&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=

You can find it in your price range, but you will have to be very patient.

Just please don't put that hole in a nice vintage hat when you get it. That would be such a waste.

Thanks for the input man, a wool hat is fine, I just need one that looks similar, I would prefer the same brand but I'll take what I can get if I have to. I've been all over the net including ebay looking for this hat or one just like it but have come up empty handed. I make replica hats, but im looking for this hat to add to my personal collection (too hard to find to offer them to my customers) this is the closet I have been able to make (brims are smaller now):
