This just came in. Very nice feeling hat and well fitting. It has a Cav type edge and is in damn near perfect condition. It amazes me how many different brand there were at one time. It certainly says that there were many men wering hats other than the big names.

The feel is kind of feather like not in weight but in touch. The hat is also a bit lighter than the photo.

It does have a kind of buisness look to it. Some hats can look sporty But I think this one can not. It is however extremely comfortable, and that is ninty-nine percent of the battle.
I like this vest very much as it sits high on my chest. I have a very hard time finding good looking well made vests. I have many but most no longer fit me.

If I could grow a full beard, I'd try to have one like Douglas's. His has a wonderfully Edwardian, George V / Tsar Nicholas II look to it.

My barber gets very upset when I cut off my beard. He is an older Russian gentleman. He tells me stories in broken English about life there and how in the old days only the wealthy could afford to wear groomed moustaches and beards because they were taxed on their facal hair.

I am only going for 7-1/8 and 7-1/4. Depending on the hat and manufacturer I can wear both. Unfortunately they are the common sizes.

Resurrecting an ancient thread

Only found 2 references to this brand here. Maybe Douglas still has this hat and can repost pics. Here is the Luxureze I picked up recently. Its a Mark II B model in Ivy. Slightly darker green ribbon. Has a cavanagh edge and a "feather finish". It is an exceptionally smooth felt. Also has a "form-flo" unreeded leather sweat. Lefty will be pleased to hear it sold out of the Suburban in Columbus, Oh. Original price of $15.00.

So in 1962 would this have been Resistol or Koracorp?

It was Byer-Rolnick Hat Corporation at that point. Koracorp doesn't enter the picture until 1970. What was the trade flap about?

Luxureze 3X Beaver with Form-Flo leather sweatband. The open crown is approximately 5 5/8” and the bound brim is 2 7/8” wide. The color is off-white somewhere between eggshell and cream
It’s decent felt with the crown a lot softer than the brim. I’d say it’s comparable to the 3X hats form the big names from the later 1950s and early 1960s. The felt does not have the blue tones that the photos show.
