For those folks interested in classical music of the 20th century, here's a heads up. Bill McGlaughlin, whose show, "Exploring Music", airs on New York's classical station, WQXR, will be exploring music of the 1920's this week. Not sure what this will entail, but there is a great wealth of amazing music from that period, on top of the great jazz we're all familiar with. It's on at 11pm, eastern time. You can also hear it at www.wqxr.org. Since the program is syndicated, you may also be able to get it on your local classical station (if you're lucky enough to have one.)
Here's the blurb from the program's web site:
March 15-19, 2010: The Roaring '20s
In the 1920s, concert halls rocked with everything from jazz to airplane propellers, radio became a multimillion dollar industry, and art and literature flowed like bathtub gin. This week, we’ll sample “The Roaring 20s” in New York, Paris and Berlin.
