Koop - Come To Me - a strange mish-mash of British 20s, 30s and 40s styles, and an utterly charming little song.
Ever see Statler and Waldorf (The two old duffers in the balcony) sing "It Was a Very Good Year"? Brought a tear to my eye, it did.
These may not have genuine vintage clothing, but the overall look has a vintage slant: Madonna - Express Yourself, This Used to be my Playground, Oh Father, You'll See, Don't Cry for Me Argentina Kate Bush - Cloudbusting, Hounds of Love Public Enemy - Can't Truss It Fleetwood Mac - Gypsy Erykah Badu - On & On Faith No More - Last Cup of Sorrow Whitney Houston - I'm Your Baby Tonight Gwen Stefani - Cool Marilyn Manson - mOBSCENE
This one is interesting....inspired by "Chicago" and Christina...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhQHkPSHZRw
Ain't No Other Man Ain't Listed No mention of my favorite Golden-Era inspired video of this year, Christina's "Ain't No Other Man"? http://youtube.com/watch?v=P-Flgwb1pI8
My favourite video displaying vintage fashion would have to be Kajagoogoo's "Too Shy" http://youtube.com/watch?v=0E2GwwjLXPk I really do like the idea of a cheesy 80s new wave band performing for the WWII troops who have just come home. My two favourite worlds. Great video.
My Chemical Romance - The Ghost of You http://youtube.com/watch?v=7sJqEccwliQ Not a big fan of them but i like the video, the song is ok Filmed nicely though.
This is Hardcore by Pulp. Interesting mix of Noir and 1950's oversaturated color melodramas. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BmL-7Y1kw8
Whoo-hoo! There is one that I've been watching every chance I get. LeAnn Rimes' new song "Nothin' Better To Do". It's a must- check it out!! http://youtube.com/watch?v=xhQHkPSHZRw And I don't know what it is about the dance she does with the girls towards the end, near the 2:20 mark, but I looooooooove it! Actually the whole video reminds me of the style that O' Brother was filmed in.
Chris Brown and Lil Wayne - Gimme that remix wait 50 secs for the vintage piece. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7nA9S4GvSQ
Vogue? Madona's "Vogue", of course! Wonderful vintage clothes and hairstyles, plus many of the shots are inspired by fashion photographs from the golden age of "Vogue" magazine. The wonderful black & white image of Madonna's back in a lace-up corset is an almost exact re-creation of a very famous vintage photograph. -BLTim
