A bit lacking in length; I agree. That said, if you will wear it, then "perfect." If the jacket will languish in the closet, because the length bothers you; get it to someone who will wear it.

I think it looks too short because of the front length. If it were slightly longer in the front (as is usually the case with a half belt), I think it would be ok.

Those jeans look pretty low rise. Have you tried wearing the jacket with some high rise trousers? If you decide to keep the jacket, wearing higher rise pants might limit the impact of the jacket being/appearing too short.

Shoulders and chest look good. But even allowing that the style of this jacket tends to run on the short side - that fit plainly looks too short (sleeves and length). If I saw you on the street, my initial impression would be that you'd long outgrown a nice jacket. That would be fine, to my thinking, if the jacket had some personal story behind it (if you'd inherited a short jacket from a family member and loved bombing around in it anyway) but for a new top-end garment that you paid good money for - even if you got a 'deal' on it - it makes no sense to settle for it. A poorly fit jacket is not a good deal.

I would learn what I could from the jacket (you now know the chest and shoulder sizing for this model, and probably have a great sense of how much you like the leather, the lining, etc.) and cut my losses. Stop wearing the jacket so you can get as much back for it as possible on the second-hand market and put the cash towards a jacket that fits.

It seems like the verdict is pretty unanimous. I have to think a little more. Ive still haven't used the jacket, just tried it on a couple of times.

It might help with different jeans as the ones on the picture is getting a bit tight around the waist (not my favorite ones at the moment...) and pushes my extra middle weight up and out. Im kinda big built at 6.3 250 in American an 193cm 115kg, with a long back so sizing is normally a problem for me....

Jeez Rolf at your height I'd be wearing a 27.5 inch back. I'm an inch shorter and my Alexanders halfbelt is 27 inches at the back. It sits 2 inches over the top of my back pocket

Yes I can return it with no problem, the people at Alexander has and is very helpful. But if a sell it locally or get a buyer to pay for shipping a save little

Still haven't decided what to do. The jacket is still not used. Took some new photos with the help of the 12 yo in the house. Also i took some pictures to compere with my summer jacket in light lambskin that i use at the moment.

Its not much difference in the length when i but them together, the new one is a little wider.

Finally how the Alexander looks with an extra layer under it.


So how does it look. Im very tempted to start using the now that the weather gets colder. I have a feeling that with a little use when the leather gets softer it will fit even better.

The back looks ok but IMHO the front length and the sleeves seem too short. If it were me, I'd return it and add about 1.5". Of course, "proper" fit is all a matter of personal taste.

The jacket is still not used.

And that my friend is the kicker.

A new leather jacket that fits well will have you wanting to wear it every second of the day, even inside at the dinner table and on the sofa watching the telly - much to your better half's amusement and even annoyance.

The fact that you're not wearing it says it all, it's not right for what you want. Send it back to them Rolf and have the necessary alterations or a replacement made.

You'll be so much happier when you receive a longer jacket. It's not fun sending it back, we've been there. A huge letdown. But the new one will be worth it and put your doubts to rest.

i had an arkansas that was my favorite jacket from them, had it for a year and just couldn't make it work, pits were cut too high for my frame. sent it back for a credit on a new custom jacket, they are very easy to work with and will make you a happy camper, just tell em what you want

I know you all are right, it should be a little longer but Im still not sure if its worth the hassle to send it back. I might have a local buyer for it, then i most likely order a new one. But i cant use more then what I get back for this jacket, so it maybe will be an cheaper model than this. Im also wondering to use it for a while and then sell it as a used jacket. Time will show. What i do know is that this is not my last quality jacket.

Ill see what happens, I already spend to much time looking for options. And im sure that in the next year there gone be more than one jacket coming in to my house.

I always loved things with quality and now I have found one more product to search for
