Grey ghost, you are definitely a long oval but maybe Grahams blocks are more ovalized than the Ecuadorian blocks. All it should take is a reflanging on the right flange.

I have always worn "off the rack" 7 3/8 hats. I recently got in a fight with the brim on my first panama and realized that while I am not a full LO, my head is longer than a standard oval. It seems that Panamas are less forgiving than felts and it doesn't take much outside of a standard oval to distort the brim.

Well Art you would know better then anyone......

I did put the The Frankenstein head measurer on.....:)

Is the reflanging a big process??? and where can I get that done????

You're right Univibe, panamas are much less forgiving as they don't have the mass..or maybe its lateral strenth to brim warp is a reality unless it's actually made for you.

Grey Ghost, its a pretty simple job so if you have anyone close ( hatter) tell them you're a 1/4 LO and they should be able to fix you up.

Round Oval

It appears that I'm a round oval. One of the panama's I have from Panama Bob has a brim that's fine when laying flat, but becomes wavey when I put it on. When I stretch it inside side to side I can replicate it. It only happens with this very light hat. I have 2 others from PB and that doesn't happen, but they are firmer hats.

BTW, I'm back to being a newbie. I missed the warning against using a public email address, and changed it when I moved from Massachusetts to Pasadena. Oh well. Its my fault, but be warned!
