Hi fellow loungers,

I just received my new Vanson Mercury jacket in comp weight. The jacket came cramped in a tiny box and looks really wrinkly out of the box. Is this normal? Would the wrinkles go away eventually? Not sure if I should contact Vanson and ask for an exchange.

Also, the comp weight does not feel heavy for some reason. I would say it feels about the same weight as my Firenze weight Vanson Maverick, and is significantly lighter than my Schott 688.

Here´s what I said There:

Have not ordered directly from Vanson, but many makers, including Schott ship their jackets folded once at the chest line (in a garment bag and sometimes with extra protection against moisture etc.).

I have handled Comp weight from different periods, and the newest one is indeed noticeable thinner and lighter than previous generations. It’s not “lightweight” though.

All Comp weight was pretty pliable from the start, so not the initial stiffness some leathers have.

IRO the "wrinkles": That´s nothing to worry about. They will even out/will be rendered invisible by the natural ageing, creasing, scuffing.

Wrinkles on leather NEVER go away, It will actually develop more wrinkles as you wear it...

As Tom said above, nothing to worry about.

This should go away...leather is pretty forgiving. I would just start wearing it to make your own wrinkles!
