Right along with "Hi Neighbor, Have A 'Gansett" as the most memorable Red Sox Baseball radio anthems.

That last one is a classic '30s Sinclair. Easy restoration for someone with the money and the inclination.

I'd love to have one for a man cave/shop.

  6. I've been eyeballing this small station building for years thinking I could possibly disassemble it (maybe it was a kit?) or have it moved.

Excuse the fuzzy Google Street View images. I'll try to stop and get better ones next time I'm in the area.

Survivalist Tip of the Day: Always carry an old lawn mower in your trunk so you can power the gas pumps when the grid fails.

The foolish man built his station on the sand.

Recently on Shorpy there was a good in-context shot of this Sinclair station in downtown Durham, North Carolina, back in 1940.

Brother Fading will be happy to see his pal Dino on the wall at the far left of the station. Looks like some kind of a plywood cut-out deal in an unusual pose.

I'm not sure about the station at the right up behind the Sinclair -- looks like Pure, most likely.

Looks that way to me, too, and a Texaco up the block on the other side. Guess that was the spot to find gas.

Great catch and, as you note, certainly not the iconic Dino pose - almost like they had to "scrunch" him up to fit into the space.

Ah, but FF can rest secure in the knowledge that Disney/Pixar has done it's bit to keep Dino's memory alive in the Toy Story and Cars movie franchises:
