Dutch Mill Gas Station Windmill Texaco Service Station Carey Ohio 1940

This windmill is a few miles south of here. It was part of a station, tourist cabin camp and restaurant that ran from the late '20's until about 1960. The rest has been torn down, but the windmill remains. It has been redone several times, including once after a car crashed into it.

Post-1974, which is when "Lead Free Texaco" came along. They passed up the chance to call it "Leadless Chief" or something like that, which paved the way for the end of the "Chief" motif in the brand names in 1982.
