What do you think about this? I know it’s a “designer” jacket but it does look really nice. How would you take care of this leather?

There are 0 rational reasons to prefer the Polo jacket over an Eastman B3.

The execution of the pockets make the jacket look absolutely atrocious, they give it the look of a cheap yearly 90's mall jacket.

If you like the jacket who am I to tell you otherwise, but the recommended Eastman would absolutely be a better choice.
They have a reputation for quality, and don't actually look horridly ****py like this thing.

I prefer a greater percentage of the cost be spent on quality materials and talented fabrication rather than manufacturer's or retailer's margin. I probably definitely wouldn't buy that jacket and wouldn't need to take care of it.

If a manufacturer isn't vertically integrated (builds and sells their own product) the margin has to be thick enough to entice a retailer to put it in stock. If the retail margin on this is 50% -and I'd bet it's there or very close- when the day came for you to resell the jacket your resale value would be roughly half the cost of the jacket less the initial retailer's margin... which would earn you $750 for a jacket you paid three grand for. That's a pretty solid hit.

Don't buy for resale value but when you can see that it's tiny in comparison to what you paid it might be worth pausing to rethink.

That's the worst RL Polo I've seen and they made a pretty good A2, they made a M51 and a M41 copy jacket, this is downhill for them, and that price! Even though they've always been expensive, their B7 sheepskin parka copy was about 3 grand
