Opinions Wanted on New Design Vest

Your opinions wanted on our new from old design hand knitted wool vest, or in other words, taken from one of my gran's patterns.

I like the wool. Is that a ridge in the pattern, or does it have large lapels of some sort? I think I would prefer a more tradition 'vee' shape to the neckline for myself, but I like the general idea. I do like a sleeveless cardigan in place of a waistcoat in colder weather.
