Well, there's World Hats Mart on Colorado. They have quite a selection, mostly lower end, but with some decent ones. Customer service is a bit dodgy. So, I don't know so much about "good", per-se...

The last time I was there it was very hard to find a furfelt fedora, they had tons of wool ones but not a lot of furfelt. I did pick up a couple of newsboy caps there (one each time) on the last 2 trips.

Are you going to be able to travel at all when out in Pasadena? You could check a Burlington Coat Factory which sometimes carries the Hueckle brand hats. Also over Burbank way in Baron'a HATS Also Down in long Beach is a hat place and I believe Hollywood may have a hatter.

Hollywood Hatters on Melrose, near LaBrea. Decent selection. Prices...??? On the the high side. Often has some great sales.
Barons, Burbank. Largely custom hats for the industry.
Goorin opened a hattery on Melrose in Hollywood. I have not been in it.
My house. I am about to start clearing out the closet.
