A question.. does the Dobbs have an un-reeded sweatband?
Do you have any before or after pics to show the finished product?

Thanks.

This is Abbie, i worked on this particular Dobbs. It did have an unreeded sweatband. I kept the original leather in the hat and just re-stitched it.

The hat loks great, Blackthorn! Jealous, I don't have a Dobbs yet.

Thanks for the shop pics too. I remember reading posts about the grand re-opening of that store and I have to say it looks like it'd be a lot of fun to shop in.

Hi Abbie! Great job, by the way! OK, for Feraud and Tonyb, here is the sweatband:

I'm guessing Abbie already answered your question, but do these pics help? What do they tell you?

Very nice job and looking good under that Dobbs.

I'll have to make a stop in to the shop, as it's just across the bay from me.

Thanks for the heads up.

How did they do on that problem? I did not know this could be repaired.

You're right, Chum, they can't be repaired. They weren't large enough to be a problem.

Now, now my friends. Don't say that too loud! There are ways...
If you're not faint of heart, read up this thread where you can find some useful information on the subject. But you need to brace yourself! :D

Hi Blackthorn...

Cool to hear about Paul's and see more pics. They sent me a invite to their opening gig (I'm nobody special...I signed up for it) and some more mail around Christmas. Unfortunately, my transportation situation of the past few months prevents my visting.

Though it may be similar to the proverbial "widow's pence", when the time is right, I would someday like to show my support with my coin and wish them success personally.

Until then, Aloha to you Blackthorn and wishes for a great 2010 to Paul's...
