My wife picked this wool military jacket up in a SF thrift store. Can anyone tell me where it's from? and when?

Yep it is what is known as a Swiss army wool field tunic, shouldn't be too hard to find info online. Pretty cheap to buy e.g. (jacket on the right.) http://www.militarysupplyhouse.com/jacketsf5.htm

The cloth is a giveaway, too. It's a unique shade and texture.
