One of my favorite "real" small pocket knives. The sharp Worldwide 2.0. A tank of a slipjoint.

Always close it with respect, otherwise... ;)

i’ve gone through a lot of newer style/material knives in the last 25 years. I just happened to walk into an old time general store and they had a Buck display. The classic lock backs remind me of my dad going to work in the 70s and 80s. I bought the 112 on the dpot. I was not in the market.

Ah, it's Buck Ranger 112, now I got it! :) Not a CALL 112 firefighters knife. ;)

I've had my eye on the lower price version with the plastic handles, pocket clip, and thumb stud. I'm having a hard time deciding if I should buy it, or a similar Victorinox. Of course, I don't "need" either of them. I can probably live the rest of my life without buying another knife.

I really do not need another Victorinox, since I already have an older version. Mine didn't come with a pocket clip. And it's an older version which had a serrated blade. Odd design where the front 2/3 of the blade is serrated to the tip, with a single bevel straight edge on the back 1/3. Single beveled on the right side like a Japanese sushi knife. I don't carry it much because it didn't come with a pocket clip or sheath. It's literally a pocket knife. Original equipment toothpick and tweezer are still intact.

Some of my pants have a little pocket on the leg, along the side seam. That's where I carry my MoraKniv. Pants in The USA don't come with that little button for knife holsters, like the pants in Sweden. Mora is still the best "bang for the buck". The best blade that you can buy, for the least amount of money. One of my favorite knives. Here I am, ready for another dishwashing shift at #PandaExpress .

My old camp knife. Primarily used for processing game. Just slightly larger than the Buck folding knife. A thinner blade, and a little bit of a belly. Razor sharp, takes and holds an edge, and perfect for a night out on the town. I've brought this to restaurants for prime rib and steaks. It was perfect for wild boar, deer, elk, etc cetera. Good for skinning, field dressing, quartering........ Just the right size and shape. The wood handle provides a good grip that doesn't slip.

Sold as a net knife. Cuts net bags. Oyster. Avocado. Citrus. Some things still come in net bags. Does that okay. The serrated teeth are just right. The other part, the fine edge, is bad. Came dull out of the box. Doesn't take or hold an edge. Not good for much else. I do not recommend.

Pocket knives have been part of my life since I was a kid. Mostly Victorinox pocket knives, for "greater works" the Swisstool, but also Leatherman, Opinel and others. What I particularly like are the small makers. In this picture you see a pocket knife made by a Greek cutler from Crete that I bought in 1999 (I think it was in Rhetymno) and two "Taschenfeitel" made by a small Austrian cutler (see here: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trattenbacher_Taschenfeitel).

I always lose my knives. I have a cool stainless broad arrow 1969 Australia army engineers knife that I ‘found’ while I was in, but it’s too cool to leave the house.

I need to get another of these brass Japanese folders. I got one in Tokyo last year and it was perfect. I see them on Amazon for cheap here.

Looks like what we used to call a straight razor.

I used to carry a benchmade and later a spyderco but stopped as I had trouble finding regular uses for it when a nearby scissor would’ve done just as well or better.

Someday would love to have a Chris Reeve knife though with a nice inlay.

Ive got drawers full of knives but the past few years there are four that always seem to get stuck in the pocket... An old Case that my grandfather gave me about 1965, a nice little damascas lockback that a fellow I know in Florida made for me, and a couple old Uncle Henrys, a trapper and a Stockman. These days I only use for fruit or packages, so I dont usually worry about bigger "darker use" or utility knives. ( I d have a couple bigger fixed bldes including a Randall #1... but they just live on the top shelf of the safe

I carried cheaper Gerbers and Buck 110s for over 30 years. The first hobby I went covid crazy with was folding knives, had over 30 at one point, and kept these.

Large 31, Damascus and S35VN blades.
Large Inkosi, S45VN.
Umnumzaan, Magnacut.
XM-18, 20CV.
Slippy, 20CV, custom micarta.

I never carry the two Hinderers, can't bring myself to sell them, one of these CRKs is in my pocket every day.
