There are 3 really large antique shows a year in Portland. This Sat. I was there with family and friends and saw a few loungers (Anon and Brooksie) and one COW member sporting a Jimmy Pierce Indy fedora. Anon had an absolutely knockout Dobbs Gamebird fedora on. One of the best I've seen.

There were numerous fedora's there, some too big and most too small, but this one was too hard to pass up. A nice gray Borsalino, it was pretty dirty and all wrinkled up. A Tad too small, but with a little steaming, stretching and cleaning it now looks great and fits perfect. The sweatband and liner were very clean.
I had an extra TWA pin so I put it on for a little extra effect. Price---$24.00. It's not a knockout looker, but still a very nice vintage Borsy. You just never know when a good hat will turn up for a cheap price. The fun part is looking and of course finding.

Why thank you! I'd say the same of that Mallory you somehow sniped from four of us last year ;)

Since we're on the topic of this show's haul, allow me to present:

It's a 7 3/8 LO Fabroc Zenith. This begs the question (should anyone know)... WTF is a Fabroc? I saw at least three of them at this show, and all had sweats bearing the name Fahey-Brockman. Near as I can tell, Fahey-Brockman was a men's store in Seattle in operation from at least 1920 to 1968, and it would seem that the brand "Fabroc" was in-house, a contraction of the store's name.

Thus, I have no idea who made this body. But it does have an overwelt Cavanaugh edge =)

(Doran and Chucklehead--you two may recall this as the hat that we all zeroed in on at the show last summer, that had just been purchased by the gentleman in that booth. He decided that it was not, perhaps, for him after all and let me have it for $30, along with the Dobbs box in the photo.)
