Got this in the mail today, and I must say, the treated horsehide with the aging makes this jacket a dream to wear. The action back also contributes to a good range of motion. Even though it is a bit of a snug fit, i don't feel restricted at all.

It is a drastic difference when compared to my double helix horsehide jacket which gave me small bruises on my arms the first time i tried breaking it in. Don't get me wrong, i still like the process (mostly pain) from breaking in a stiffer horsehide jacket and seeing the progression over years of wear, but you can't beat having a comfortable jacket out of the box. It's just a completely different experience.

The first pic I’m wearing a t shirt and the rest I’m wearing a thick sweater. The jacket is stiff, it feels like I’m wearing armor. Best jacket I have ever owned quality wise. Also the removable liner was such a great idea. It makes this a 3 season jacket. Really glad I went with this model less

Looks absolutely top notch mate! a home run for sure :)

@philli Yours too mate! what a stunner! :D

Cheers!

La mia nuova Thedi in pelle di cavallo bruciata dopo una settimana molto piovosa e dopo numerose applicazioni di olio. Il colore è completamente cambiato, ma mi piace...

Hi guys, someone has experience with Thedi's 23oz twill gabardine?.

I fear it's very thick and tough to break in.

I found this using Gemini.

Here is a direct comparison between Thedi’s 23oz Twill Gabardine and their standard Canvas (typically 12–16oz) used in their jacket collections:

Comparison: 23oz Gabardine vs. Thedi Canvas

Feature23oz Twill GabardineStandard Thedi Canvas
Weave TypeTwill (Diagonal): Extremely tight, parallel ribs.Plain (Crisscross): Simple over-under pattern.
Weight/DensityUltra-Heavy (23oz): Massive density, feels like armor.Mid-Heavy (12-16oz): Substantial but manageable.
Initial StiffnessExtremely Rigid: Feels like wearing thick cardboard at first.Firm: Still tough, but much more pliable.
Break-in PeriodLong & Difficult: Requires months of heavy wear to soften.Moderate: Conforms to the body within weeks.
Water ResistanceSuperior: The density naturally repels water droplets.Good: Relies mostly on its wax coating for resistance.
Texture/FeelSmooth & Slick: A refined, technical, military look.Rough & Matte: A traditional, "toothy" workwear feel.
WindproofingTotal: Virtually zero air penetration through the weave.High: Very wind-resistant, but less dense than 23oz.
Aging StyleDevelops very sharp, "sculptural" creases (honeycombs).Develops a softer, faded "lived-in" patina over time.
Summary: The 23oz Gabardine is for the "********" enthusiast who wants the most indestructible fabric possible and doesn't mind the physical struggle of breaking it in. The Canvas is the more balanced choice for someone who wants the classic rugged Thedi look with a much faster path to comfort.

Not sure but Gemini seems accurate.
You can ask Gemini (or any AI) to provide sources that back their claims.

I'm saying this because it is very unlikely it found a source directly comparing those two jackets. It is likely it found something talking about one and something else talking about the other, so it just made the comparison without any kind of context. Or perhaps it just made it all up completely.

Working on a custom Thedi Idas, I got a large in a fit jacket (22.5 ptp and 26in sleeves) wanted to get it in black teacore leather with a military camo interior. Will also put in a shearling vest that I can swap in and out with my aviator. Also will put in a chest zipper similar to the memphis
