Stetson Special in a nice russet brown. The brim is 2 ⅜” wide and the open crown is approximately 5 ½ to 5 ⅝ inches. The felt is very soft and supple.

Stetson velour 1900 Paris medal fedora. 2 1/2 inch brim, 5 1/2 inch open crown. The Lot Number # 6248 or 5248 (edit-can't decide)suggests this hat dates to 1920's to early 1930's. The Block Number is #729 and there are 2 hats with that same number on pg 37 of this thread and perhaps others elsewhere. These other 2 hats belong to Alan and splintercellsz and both are also 1900 Paris medal hats. This hat was lost in the mail for a while but finally arrived.

Stetson Extra Light Weight exposition medal hat. Sold by Cunningham and Scharman in Oakland, California. Absolutely fantastic hat with no discernible damage. 2 ½” raw edge brim and 5 ⅝” open crown.
The felt is something between velour and melusine and it’s absolutely fantastic Lot number on then a know the sweatband is 6319.

I had to take a 3 ½ hour road trip to get it as the seller refused to ship it. It was time and gas well-spent.

Great hat, Brent! It looks real similar to my hat back up toward the top of the page. Has about the same block number.

That is an amazing part of history, Brent. I'm glad you were able to recover it.

Here is a Stetson Excellent quality I brought back to life a month or so ago. It was in really bad shape. The photos speak for itself.
I took the hat apart and gave it a good cleaning. Blocked it up from a 6 7/8 or 7 to a 7 1/4. New sweatband and new trim.
I still have the liner and sweatband but they’re so delicate that they cannot be used in the hat. Im planning on possibly framing them. It’s an incredible lightweight felt and it is now a daily driver!
