Recalcitrant stain on grosgrain

Hello,

I have an otherwise fine hat, with a stain along a zone of the brim grosgrain binding, which I can not remove or reduce. I have tried alcohol, diluted vinegar, and saliva (not all together ;) ) as suggested in various past threads. Nothing worked.

Maybe one of those hat cleaners? But aren't these for the felt?

Do you have any other proposal?

Regards!

Sounds like a "tide" mark, and the only thing that works is wetting the entire ribbon/binding evenly with water. You cannot seem to wet only part of a ribbon or such a "tide" mark will appear. Hope this is the case with yours.
