My son found the remains of the peaked cap/visor cap of an Austrian postbus driver of the 1920ies in the attic of a house shortly before it was torn down. I tried to recreate it as it was beyond restoring. So I had to find out how the templates were constructed, find some suitable fabric, leather for the bill, the sweatband and the chinstrap, polish the metal insignia, buttons and buckles, find a replacement cockade and, after the second attempt, managed to get the job done more or less successfully. I could not do the edging of the bill, I think a special sewing foot is needed for this. Also enclosed is a picture (last one) of how an original looks like.

Great restoration job. Now pray the kid doesn't ask for a bus to go with it.
