Roger Ebert is down in a Chicago hospital - complications from cancer surgery. Serious condition.

They SAY his condition was serious but stable and not THAT big a thing - he had to go back in for surgery because the incision from surgery a few weeks ago started bleeding earlier in the week or over the weekend. But it was cancer surgery, although they say that cancer isn't one of the more serious, deadly, fast-moving cancers and they think the surgery got it all.

A little publicized back story involving Siskel's passing is that his widow approached Ebert requesting to maintain her husbands interest in the show, in perpetuity. Ebert declined, they no longer speak.
