Was searching the internet and stumbled upon Baron Hats, they offer "The Hunter" for 498.00 US.Alot of money in my humble opinion for a hat.Ordered the Akubra slouch for far less.Any thoughts on my being"cheap" and not spending 500.00 for a head lid???

Thoughts? Yes.... I think you'd be mad to spend $500 on a production hat if something as good as an Akubra is available for much less! ;)

I'm sure there will be a variance of opinions, but for taking it out and wearing it in the kind of rough and tumble a Safari hat is designed for, I'd not be wanting something that cost so much I was scared of getting dust in it!

I have owned a Akubra "Military" Slouch hat. I liked it, just did not wear it much. So my buddy is now wearing it as his summer hat. Cant go wrong with Akubra.

This hat's come up several times on the forum, but nobody has ever admitted to owning one. $500.00 seems like an awful lot to pay for a rabbit fur hat. The Akubra goes for a fifth of that and is a great buy.

TOO MUCH $...
Akubra is a great hat... with a little work you can make an Akubra into most any style hat you can think off { they have so many types of hats }. WORK is the word... but for most style hats it is not a hard word. :D

GOOD LUCK... and ask questions... you may be direceted back to another thread, but there is plenty help here!!!!!:eusa_clap
