My favorite leather jacket:

From Superior Flight Apparel: a modified M-1941 field jacket in HH. It's more a '30's hybrid half-belt now, but, just what I had in mind.

Mark nailed this jacket for me: materials; fit; understanding what I wanted.

Thanks Tito!

Sad to say, I am a portly fifty-five year old lawyer who sits behind a desk all day...so I wear size XL/48 in all types of military jackets.

Atticus - you look real smart in your jacket! With Ray Ban and Jeep Wrangler is a great combination of style and fun...!
Love it because its just my style!
BTW: If you wear a 48 in military jackets - like me - it must be a 44" in civilian jacket so you are in good shape - everyone can see....dont worry!

Though I do really love my old 1960s work jacket...

This was taken during my stag nite party, at a fish camp in West Memphis in 2005 - the '55 Caddy belongs to a very dear friend and served as our car when we became the first peeps to get wed inside Sun Studio!

Thats a real beauty Jack, looks very close to that heavy steerhide Bootlegger that you parted with as far as I can see though the BL was likely shorter in body (wish I had been around to get that one by the way, it looked fabulous).
The 'Lancer' front/collar will always be a great jacket style.

Ted.
PS. Would certainly like to see a frontal pic of the new one zipped up. (and any others you might have).
PSS. Is the zipper asymetrical or straight down the middle?

Thanks Windward, but if you look closely just above my belt in the photo you'll see ample evidence of my love for Wisconsin beer and North Carolina bar-b-que. But I'm not complaining. I decided long ago if the price of a flat stomach is less beer and bar-b-que...well, maybe JoS A. Bank will continue selling size 38 pants...and I'll keep drinking beer and eating bar-b-que.:D

Favorite jacket

Hello, Bonneville:
You have a good memory for the Aero Bootlegger. Here is another pic of the Superior jacket, zipped. The zipper is asymmetrical, button sleeves, cordouroy pocket lining.
