Finally found a 1940s DB Glen Plaid suit in my size:

Union tag looks like its dated either 1936 or 1939

That's a 1939 union tag. You can tell by the little "80" in the bottom right corner. Other than that (and the copyright date of course) '36 and '39 union tags are identical.

A few years ago, the "Show Us Your Suits" thread was almost exclusively vintage or good vintage repro. As membership expanded, this 'norm' became increasingly watered down. So yes, we do need a specifically-titled 'vintage suits' thread now.

Why not just make one?

Though a specific cut off date would need to be established so noone gets confused or their feelings hurt

Most of my photos of my vintage suits aren't there anymore. I'll dig them up, or take new photos.

What would your cut off date be?

Do you think new suits cut from vintage patterns should be in the 'vintage suits only' thread (as an inspiration to those who cant find a vintage suit that fits them); or in with other suits; or in a separate 'vintage style new suits' thread?

Maybe it would best work by decade? (20s, 30s etc)

What about a separate thread for 'Date this suit' for those who have a vintage suit they are not certain about? Then if and when they have a conclusive answer they can put the suit in the correct thread.
